There arose a generation who didn’t know the Lord, or what He had done for His people.
This is how Judges 2:10 describes a generation of God’s people. This is the way that generation would be remembered. Those were the words that were written about them.
If someone were to describe our generation, what do you think they would say? What words would you want them to use?
Here is what I would want them to say:
There arose a generation who knew God.
There arose a generation who experienced Christianity as a relationship with God, not just a religion.
There arose a generation who understood God’s love and grace.
There arose a generation that was unabashedly unashamed of the gospel, and shared it with those around them.
There arose a generation that was willing to arise and shine forth the light of God in a dark world.
This is what I want to be said of us, and this is who I know we can become. This is the purpose of Generation Arise – to encourage this generation to arise and shine, and become who God has created them to be!
